constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma casa, abriu um buraco que d\u00e1 acesso \u00e0 gruta. Ac\u00edlio, curioso, fez uma visita \u00e0 cavidade e tirou as primeiras fotos. Mais tarde, em conversa com um amigo espele\u00f3logo, contou o sucedido e convidou-o a visitar a chamada gruta do Ac\u00edlio.<\/span><\/div><div style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 0.5;\" data-line-height=\"0.5\">\n<\/div><div style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0px;\">Na observa\u00e7\u00e3o da regi\u00e3o de Penela, destaca-se imediatamente o aspeto da conforma\u00e7\u00e3o orogr\u00e1fica, com as serras a nascente (Serra do Espinhal) e a poente (Maci\u00e7o de Sic\u00f2) (Cunha, 1990), um conjunto de colinas (Colinas Dolom\u00edticas a Sul de Coimbra) (Dimuccio, 2011) e uma depress\u00e3o (Depress\u00e3o Marginal) (Santos, 1996). Os diferentes carateres litol\u00f3gicos, juntamente com uma s\u00e9rie de estruturas tect\u00f4nicas, permitem definir as quatro \u00e1reas mencionadas como \u201cunidades morfo-estruturais\u201d com uma dire\u00e7\u00e3o essencialmente meridiana.\u00a0<\/span><\/div><div style=\"letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: Questrial; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line; line-height: 0.5;\" data-line-height=\"0.5\">&nbsp;<\/div><div style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Entre a Serra do Espinhal, a nascente, constitu\u00edda por rochas metam\u00f3rficas e magm\u00e1ticas pr\u00e9-mesoz\u00f3icas, e o alinhamento de colinas, assim\u00e9tricas, com imers\u00e3o a poente, esculpidas em rochas essencialmente carbonatadas (calc\u00e1rio e dolomita do Jur\u00e1ssico Inferior), abre a Depress\u00e3o Marginal modelada em arenitos e conglomerados Tri\u00e1ssicos; acredita-se que esta \u00faltima esteja associada \u00e0 evolu\u00e7\u00e3o da bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica do rio Due\u00e7a (Soares et al., 1989; Cunha, 1981). O Maci\u00e7o de Sic\u00f2, no extremo oeste da \u00e1rea, \u00e9 modelado em rochas tamb\u00e9m essencialmente carbonatadas (marga, calc\u00e1rio e calcarenito) do Jur\u00e1ssico M\u00e9dio e Inferior (precisamente Liassic Alto M\u00e9dio e Dogger).<\/span><\/div><div style=\"letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: Questrial; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line; line-height: 0.5;\" data-line-height=\"0.5\">&nbsp;<\/div><div style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Em resumo, os terrenos no concelho de Penela podem ser agrupados da seguinte forma (Soares et al., 1989): um grupo de unidades l\u00edticas mais antigas (Pr\u00e9-cambrico-Paleoz\u00f3ico), com principalmente rochas metam\u00f3rficas e magm\u00e1ticas, que constituem a base herc\u00ednica; outro consistindo de forma\u00e7\u00f5es sedimentares mesoz\u00f3icas e cenoz\u00f3icas continentais e marinhas que repousam em disc\u00f3rdia angular sobre as mais antigas e incluem unidades geol\u00f3gicas de idade que v\u00e3o do Tri\u00e1ssico ao Quatern\u00e1rio. Localmente, a \u00e1rea apresenta tect\u00f4nica relativamente intensa com predom\u00ednio de falhas e fraturas cuja orienta\u00e7\u00e3o oscila entre N-S, NW-SE e NE-SW (Soares et al., 1989).<\/span><div style=\"letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: Questrial; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line; line-height: 0.5;\" data-line-height=\"0.5\">&nbsp;<\/div><div style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">O Sistema Espeleol\u00f3gico do Due\u00e7a, o maior e mais interessante sistema c\u00e1rsico subterr\u00e2neo ativo at\u00e9 agora conhecido no Maci\u00e7o de Sic\u00f3 (CIES et al., 2005; Neves et al., 2003) desenvolve-se essencialmente nas unidades carbonatadas do Jur\u00e1ssico M\u00e9dio (Dogger). Esta ribeira, onde mais a jusante vamos encontrar a surg\u00eancia principal do sistema e que lhe muda o nome para Rio Due\u00e7a, \u00e9 alimentada principalmente por \u00e1guas provenientes do Maci\u00e7o Hesp\u00e9rico, constitu\u00eddo por xistos e quartzitos. A gruta desenvolve-se numa extens\u00e3o de 53m com 3m de desn\u00edvel no sentido da gruta Soprador do Carvalho que tem a cota de entrada igual, a 208m do outro lado do vale.\u00a0 A cavidade, grosso modo \u00e9 constitu\u00edda por duas galerias que v\u00eam de N e seguem para SSW.<\/span><div style=\"letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: Questrial; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify; white-space: pre-line; line-height: 0.5;\" data-line-height=\"0.5\">&nbsp;<\/div><span style=\"font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0px;\">Dada a proximidade entre a gruta do Ac\u00edlio e o Sistema do Due\u00e7a, o facto de ambas as cavidades se desenvolverem na mesma forma\u00e7\u00e3o, apresentarem morfologia semelhante e coincid\u00eancia de cotas entre as grutas, podemos considerar que faz parte do Sistema espeleol\u00f3gico do Due\u00e7a. Com os dados dispon\u00edveis n\u00e3o \u00e9 poss\u00edvel concluir que a gruta do Ac\u00edlio \u00e9 um ramo da gruta do Soprador do Carvalho, no entanto essa hip\u00f3tese ser\u00e1 a mais
